So something happened the other day.
I was driving home, and I was smiling. And I had a million thoughts going through my head.
And I stopped, and for a second I was like “Oh, god. Something is wrong.”
I realized I was happy.
For the first time since the accident, I felt truly, actually happy.
And I thought there was something wrong.
I am currently in the middle of my senior capstone research project for the Women’s, Gender, & Sexualities Studies department at California State University Long Beach. For this project, I am looking at the ways that healthcare providers address the sexual and reproductive health needs of people with disabilities. I want to center the experiences of other people with disabilities to see how they have felt about these experiences. To do so, I will be interviewing people with visible disabilities about their experiences with doctors and other healthcare providers.
Please email me if you are interested & meet the following criteria:
-You identify as female, trans*, or genderqueer.
-Are between the ages of 18-30
-Have a visible disability
Please note that previous sexual activity is not required to be eligible for interview. My focus is on health care. This research is inspired by my own experience with sexual & reproductive health care as a queer person with a visible disability, so don’t be shy! All participants will be anonymous.
Interviews will be approx. 30 minutes to an hour & may be done via Skype, Google hangout etc, or in person if you are in the Los Angeles area.
I would like to complete all interviews by April 1st, so please get in touch ASAP.
nonbinary people are perfect & must be protected at all costs & if you disagree then go away & dont touch me
So my friend’s kid has come to believe that everyone is trans. It is glorious and we haven’t told her otherwise.
"how are you doing?"
[makes several vague hand gestures and various noises rather than giving an actual answer]
